Get To Know Dr. Bonbright
My name is Tom Bonbright and my amazing wife Karen and I are both Denver natives and love all of the beauty and activities that Colorado has to offer; skiing, hiking, golf and much more. Most of all, we cherish doing these things with our wonderful children and grandchildren. In 1955, my father, John Bonbright DDS, established a successful dental practice in Denver that I purchased and practiced in until 2020. During that time, I created a modern, digital age practice that included CT scanning for the precise surgical placement of dental implants, laser treatments, and same day crowns with the CEREC system. My goal was to replace goopy, inaccurate dental impressions with digital scanning, a goal that with few exceptions was achieved. Another goal is to create beautiful and long-lasting dental smiles and that comes about as a result of passion, ongoing education and excellent communication with patients. Best of all, I love connecting with patients; individuals, multi-generational families and people from all backgrounds. I’m excited to put my skills to use for the patients at Smile Castle Rock and to become a part of the community!
Education and Background
Dr. Bonbright got his BS degree with honors from the University of Colorado in Boulder in1980 in chemistry and molecular biology. After a year of research work at the C.U. Medical School, he enrolled in the University of Colorado School of Dentistry and received his DDS degree in 1985. Throughout his career, he has remained active in the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, the Colorado Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He has also been a part of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Board of Oral Implantology, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, (AAID). In 2008, he became an Associate Fellow of the AAID after completing the Maxicourse Implant residency at NYU. He has also had advanced training with the prestigious Pankey Institute and the Spear Dental Academy.
Interests Outside of the Dental Office
Without a doubt, I strive to put my wonderful family first. We are blessed to be healthy and to have healthy children and grandchildren to share activities with. Both Karen and I are hopelessly hooked on fly fishing and we’ve found it to be a great way to enjoy the outdoors here in Colorado. Hiking and camping with family is always a part of our summers. I’ve had the good fortune to climb many of this state’s “Fourteeners” when we went on extended backpacking trips. Travel, sports events, (especially sports our grandkids participate in), music, church and community involvement are among other activities we like to do.
